While it may not be apparent at first glance, Irena has been active in advocacy for over 23 years (she has been a member of the Czech Bar Association since 2009). Every day, she handles complex legal situations for her clients that impact both their businesses and their personal lives. Irena specializes in mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, sophisticated ownership structures (holdings) and asset protection, intergenerational business succession, commercial law, real estate, compliance, and disputes between shareholders, as well as AI and related compliance matters. She advises clients across various industries, including real estate development, food processing, healthcare, and retail.

Irena has worked at leading Czech law firms and within the Big 4. She draws on her diverse experience from Weinhold Legal, KPMG Legal, and ROWAN LEGAL. Before founding her own law firm, KOLAROVA LEGAL, Irena was a founding partner at Eppinger Kolárová Legal.

In her practice, Irena always combines her own experience with the expertise of other specialists to ensure that the client always receives the best possible service. She therefore consistently collaborates with tax advisors, accountants, and auditors, as well as with top-tier investigators.

Clients highly value Irena for her multidisciplinary, strategic, and business-oriented advice, her strong empathy, her deep personal and professional insight into situations, and her understanding of even the most demanding corporate environments. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc and also completed the Erasmus program at the Faculty of Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Beyond the law

I went to study law because of my undying belief in justice. However, life has taught me that law is not about justice nor can it be because it seeks to defend the interests of many different parties, and life literally flows around paragraphs. Law is not perfect either. Law is about being prepared, about strategy, about knowing your options. Law is about an open and active approach to the situations you fear most in life. It’s about how you handle conflicts and obstacles that may be among the toughest you’ll ever face.

The winneris not necessarily the one who is right, but rather the one who is well-prepared and unafraid to seek guidance. The person who is not afraid to hear the unpleasant reality. The person who is not afraid to realize that some steps may not have been taken ideally in the past, but that the situation can still be addressed and resolved. And the person who can build a new strategy and grow from these foundations.

Law is also about knowing how to take advantage of the opportunities you are given. It is about finding new and interesting paths for your business decisions, as well as support and protection that will enhance and elevate your company and assets.
